Roswell, New Mexico ... UFO Capital of the World:

It all began on Independence Day, 1947. As the story goes, a UFO landed just outside of town. It was reported in the local newspaper & there was a subsequent 30-year coverup.

We won't get into the details here — there's a ton of stuff to check out on the internet about the so-called Roswell Incident.

Meanwhile, if you're interested, you too should take the trek to Roswell and check it all out first hand.

Visit the International UFO Museum & Research Center. It's a non-profit organization.

Billy The Kid
Billy the Kid grave marker What trip to the Land of Enchantment would NOT include a trip to Fort Sumner? Actually, this is a joke — because Fort Sumner is way off the beaten path. But it's where you'll find the alleged grave and tombstone of Billy the Kid.

There's been some controversy lately about whether Billy the Kid is actually in that grave.

The governor of New Mexico has even suggested digging up the grave the DNA can be matched with that from the remains of Billy the Kid's mother from a grave in Silver City, New Mexico. If the two match, they would know that it's Billy in Fort Sumner.

Not everyone is happy with that idea, though ... including Don Sweet who runs the local Billy the Kid Museum:
