The Pike's Peak Cog Railway
Week of July 20, 2003

Let's take a trip up to the top of Pike's Peak.

On a recent Saturday, it was sunny & 92 in Manitou Springs ... at the base of the mountain. 80 minutes later, we were at the top of the mountain at 14,110 feet ... there was lightning and thunder and it was snowing. Talking about beatin' the heat!

The Pike's Peak Cog Railway trains have been updated over the years and have carried millions to the top of America's best-known mountain. The trip's a treat, the scenery can't be beat and train conductor Heather was too neat.

Click for audio Conductor Heather shares the history of the railway with Ace — along with some "Cog Railway humor."

The railway journey offers a spectacular view.

Round-trip tickets for the Cog Railway cost about 26 bucks — well worth the price of admission. More details — and a train yard webcam — are available at CogRailway.com.
