The People's Fair of June 7th and 8th was brand new to me. Locals tell me this particular event marks the beginning of Colorado's "festival season."
Upwards of a quarter million people turned out at Denver's Civic Center Park and environs to hear live music, sample a variety of taste treats and check out a myriad of vendors.
Vendors ran the gamut: turkey legs to legal advice and everything in between. Everyone seemed friendly enough, but I have a hunch my reputation preceded me — click on the audio button to hear what I mean:

The makers of Crayola crayons celebrated their 100th year in business with a large exhibition. Their good news included the rollout of new stain-proof Crayolas and crayons that keep their point. This booth at the People's Fair offered fried gator. Your intrepid reporter had to check it out first hand: "Not too bad. Kinda tastes like chicken."
